2024 Rapid Review of Tongen Inepwineu Counseling Center

Focusing on three key review questions around effectiveness, efficiency and lessons learnt, the review considers TICC since its’ inception in 2020 through both the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development and Pacific Women Lead programs.

Fiji: Stories of survival, hope and activism-

House of Sarah is a faith-based civil society organization working to prevent violence against women and girls using the SASA! Faith methodology, an evidence-based approach used to inspire and mobilize communities to prevent violence against women and girls. It also documents evidence and lessons so that others may learn from and be inspired by their experience to adapt faith-based prevention programming to their own contexts. UN Women Fiji Multi-Country Office is a long-term partner of House Sarah, and currently supports their efforts through the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Pacific Partnership) funded primarily by the European Union and the Governments of Australia and New Zealand.

We Are All Created Equal: Preventing VAWG in Fiji’s Faith Settings (Paper commissioned by UN Women FMCO & produced by Equality Institute, Australia)

This paper is for policy makers, practitioners and faith-based organisations working to prevent VAWG in faith settings in Fiji, the Pacific, and beyond. It describes the journey of House of Sarah, a faith-based civil society organisation in Suva, Fiji, working to prevent VAWG, and documents evidence and lessons so that others may learn from and be inspired by their experience to adapt faith-based prevention programming to their own contexts.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan for Tongen Inepwineu Counseling Center

This Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan is intended to create a systematic way for Tongen Inepwineu Counseling Center (TICC) at the Chuuk Women’s Council (CWC) to guide monitoring data collection, learning and reporting. The MEL Plan provides guidance to understanding how TICC contributes to CWC’s overarching mission as well as Pacific Women Lead at SPC’s (PWL at SPC) intended outcomes, and to guide reporting associated reporting requirements. It is a living document that will be reviewed and updated as needed and covers the period every 12 months and cover the period from October 2023 to June 2024.

Independent Formative Evaluation of Family Support Centres in Papua New Guinea

This formative evaluation aimed to generate findings and recommendations to improve the on-going implementation of FSCs in Papua New Guinea, and determine what worked and what did not work, analysing both the constraining and enabling factors.This evaluation is the first formal independent assessment of the Family Support Centres since their introduction in 2003. The unit of analysis was 14 FSCs from 2003 until the present. Nine of the FSCs are supported by UNICEF2 and five FSCs were established by other partners. The objective of the evaluation was to determine the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and contribution to equity of the FSC approach. The primary users of the evaluation findings are the National Department of Health (NDoH) and Provincial Health Authorities/Administrations; Family Sexual Violence Action Committee (FSVAC); Department of Community Development, Youth & Religion (DfCDYR); and UNICEF as a key supporting partner. Secondary users include wider development partners (UN agencies, bilateral donors), faith based organizations, and civil society partners in PNG supporting the FSC approach.

Preventing Violence Against Women in Fiji’s Faith Settings End of Project Evaluation Report

This Evaluation Report presents the independent end of project evaluation (the evaluation) of the House of Sarah (HOS) Preventing Violence Against Women in Fiji’s Faith Settings (PVAWFFS) project
(the project). The evaluation was conducted between May - July 2023 by Collaborate Consulting Pte Ltd (CoLAB) consultant Leaine Robinson, and independent consultant and EVAW specialist,
Liliwaimanu Vuiyasawa (the evaluation team). The evaluation focused on assessing the extent to which the PVAWFFS project is relevant, effective, efficient, and sustainable and to provide HOS with recommendations to help inform future directions of the project.

Mid term Evaluation Report: Preventing Violence Against Women in Fiji’s Faith Settings Project

This report presents the independent Mid Term Evaluation (MTE) of the House of Sarah (HOS) Preventing Violence Against Women in Fiji’s Faith Settings (PAWFFS) project (also referred to in this report as ‘the project’). The PVAWFFS project is funded by the Fiji Women’s Fund (the Fund) and UN Women. The MTE was conducted between September- October 2020 by Fiji based development consultants, Iris Low and Leaine Robinson.

The project commenced in 2018 in three Anglican Parishes: 1) St Michael and All Angels Parish in Matata, Lami; 2) St Mark Parish in Newtown; and 3) St John the Baptist Parish at Wailoku. The PVAWFFS project utilises SASA!, an activist prevention model for preventing Violence Against Women (VAW) developed by Raising Voices, Uganda and Trocaire, Ireland, specifically the SASA! Faith model which takes the structure, process, and content of SASA! and adapts it for use by religious communities.
