What is the VAWG Prevention Hub?
The Pacific Violence against women and girls (VAWG) Prevention Hub is a closed-access platform that collects and shares VAWG prevention resources and knowledge, primarily created by Pacific feminist VAWG prevention and response practitioners including women with disabilities and other vulnerable and marginalized persons including LBTQI+, and non-binary people.
Our aim is to champion and showcase feminist, intersectional, and Indigenous Oceanic perspectives to prevent and end VAWG in the region. We aim to increase access to community-based, evidence-driven prevention strategies—highlighting both what works and what doesn’t—while amplifying Pacific knowledge and practices on global platforms. The Hub also supports a growing, diverse network of practitioners, activists, researchers, and feminist movements collaborating on effective, context-specific VAWG prevention.
All resources published in the platform are for educational and guidance purposes.
The Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub is hosted by the Pacific Community (SPC), which is headquartered in Noumea, New Caledonia, with a regional office in Suva, Fiji. The Site is managed and administered from Fiji. Content made available on the Site may be subject to the laws of multiple jurisdictions, including the copyright and intellectual property laws of the country in which the content was originally created or published.
Terms and Conditions for Website Users
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and the Pacific Community (“SPC”), concerning your access to and use of the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub website as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”).
You agree that by accessing the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub , you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms and Conditions. Unless otherwise indicated, the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub is our proprietary property and all reports, documents, publications, photos, artwork, videos, graphics, illustrations, training materials, user interfaces, visual interfaces, names, logos, audios, software, statistics, computer codes, programs and other information or material on the Site (collectively, the “Content”) are owned by SPC or licensed to SPC by contributors to the Site (“contributing parties”), and are protected by copyright and trademark laws and various other intellectual property rights and unfair competition laws of applicable jurisdictions, and international conventions.
No part of the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub and no Content may be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use the Site and to download or print a copy of any portion of the Content to which you have properly gained access solely for non-commercial use. Any use of the Content must be accompanied by an acknowledgement of the owner of the concerned Content (either SPC or the contributing party). You also agree that neither SPC nor the contributing parties will be held responsible or liable for any use of the Content.
Terms and Conditions for Contributors to Website
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and the Pacific Community (“SPC”), concerning your access and contributions to the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub website as well as any other media form, media channel, mobile website or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”).
The reports, documents, publications, photos, artwork, videos, graphics, illustrations, training materials, user interfaces, visual interfaces, names, logos, audios, software, statistics, computer codes, programs and other information or material and work product that you provide to the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub website that are in your property (including that under copyright protection) (“Property”) shall remain your property. You hereby grant a non-exclusive, non-transferable and revokable license to SPC to use the Property for purposes of its dissemination to the general public on the Site. SPC shall not use the Property for any other purposes, including but not limited to use or adaptation for purposes of creation of documents or publications, without your prior approval, or in line with the applicable Creative Commons Licenses used to copyright and protect the materials. You also acknowledge and agree that SPC shall not be liable for the actions of third parties in relation to the Property.
Take-down Requests
You can request that SPC remove a resource Submission from the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub website or report a copyright breach to the VAWG Prevention Hub website moderator via our ‘Contact Us’ page. Your request should include:
- Your first name and last name and contact details.
- A copy of the URL on the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub website of the Submission that you are referring to.
- Description of the material submitted that you believe to infringe or breach copyright.
- Indication of whether you are the copyright owner. and
- The law, licence or contract which you claim is being breached and how it is being breached.
- Any supporting information reasonably required to assess the request.
Upon receipt of a request, the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub (SPC) will promptly:
- Acknowledge the receipt of your request by return email.
- Seek to clarify the nature of the request if the details of the request are not described in full.
- Embargo the Submission so public access is temporarily restricted within a reasonable timeframe, subject to technical and administrative constraints.
- Assess the validity of the request.
- Retain archival or backup copies where required for legal, regulatory, or operational purposes, provided such copies are not made publicly available.
- Communicate the outcome of its assessment to you and the relevant parties.
Important Notices
- SPC will make reasonable efforts to process Take-Down Requests in a timely manner.
- SPC reserves the right to immediately remove or restrict access to any content without prior notice where it reasonably believes that:
- The content may pose a risk of harm;
- The content contains sensitive personal or identifying information;
- There is potential legal, safety, or reputational risk associated with continued publication.
You acknowledge that any Take-Down Request that does not include sufficient information to enable SPC to assess its validity may not be processed or may be declined.
Withdrawal of Partnership
- Any contributing organisation or network member may withdraw from participation in the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub by providing written notice to SPC via the ‘Contact Us’ page.
- Upon withdrawal, SPC will cease identifying or associating the withdrawing party with the VAWG Prevention Hub within a suitable timeframe.
- Withdrawal will not affect any prior use, publication or dissemination of the Property that occurred before the effective date of withdrawal.
SPC reserves the right to suspend or terminate a contributor’s participation on the site at its discretion and in consultation with the Pacific VAWG Prevention Hub Reference Group. This is including where there is a breach of these Terms and Conditions or where continued participation may pose legal, reputational, or operational risk.
